Possible to use Cigarette Lighter even after cars off?
 

First off, sorry if this has already been posted but I searched and came up with nothing of relevance. This also might be a RTFM.

Is it possible to have the cigarette lighter work even when the car is off? I usually like to charge my cellphone in my car when it's off (usually cause it goes dead at work, then I throw it in my car to recharge).

I did this in my mustang all the time, and I'm kinda disappointed it doesn't work on the rx8. I understand it's a "safety-feature" so you don't kill the battery, but I'll take the battery's life into my own hands. ;)

run a direct wire from the fuse box and tie in the charger

nice thing about this is you can have a clean install...with lighter plug hidden :)

bleh, I was hoping I wouldn't have to do any wiring. I did enough of that with all the audio equipment and gauges in the stang. :o
