Possible Problems with AudioPilot
BALLZ ALIVE! unfortunately, the morons at BOSE placed the audiopilot sensor under the steering colloumn. Yep, exactly where they put it on the Z causing all kinds of nightmares, hopefully these were all do to programming flaws and NOT device position and other hardware aspects. Hopefully BOSE learned their lesson with Nissan and isnt making the same mistake with Mazda, wow, i would NEVER forgive them.......bah, bastards......BAH.

Fortunately anyone that has made any reference to the Bose sound system have said nothing but positive things. That leads me to believe that they have either fix the problem or the two systems are totally different. :D
|
it darn well better be the former

I cannot comment if the probelm on the Z was ever fixed as it was not mentioned, bar its bad location.
But I would like to know how this works. Apparently, if I have the window down and get drowned in wind noise this facility will adjust the music balance not the volume so that I continue to benefit. Also, presumably if somebody joind me in the car or we talk then there is some sort of adjustment. How does that work? rael. |
You can shut off the autopilot if you like. I did so when I saw the car recently. The car sounded awesome with it on or off.

Fear not
The same feature is available in the Mazda6 which, of course was developed before the RX-8. My wife has one and the sound is great. The volumeautomatically adjusts to speed, windows up, windows down or sunroof settings. It actually does more than adjusts the volume but in any event, it is a great feature and one I've wished for for years.;)

Wow pretty awesome. Wish I coulda heard it when the car was here at our show. I mean that's the reason why I went with the Touring over the Sport.. argh.
Please dont disappoint me Bose/Mazda.. |
ahhaha
thats what we wished for too....

You won't be disappointed ;)
