People who have aftermarket gauges...

What if any other hardware did you need for the install? I have a set of Defi BF gauges with the control brain box and I just ordered teh RB oil and water sensor adapters. Any other wiring or cables I might need?

bump for a decent question

What gauges are you installing?

XeRo 01-16-2006 09:30 AM

well...based on the fact that he said Defi BF guages as well as the brain...and then i think he hinted towards Oil and water since he did buy the adapters from RB...i could be WAY out there...but i'd put money on that what he's gonna be getting..or got...

i did this same thing but with Blitz BLM guages...mounted on the A-Pillar in CF...Oil P/Oil Temp/Water Temp...

Thats what I have, Oil temp/pressure and water temp. I have a custom pod. So any other hoses or stuff?

bump!

I didn't need any other hoses, etc. All of the wiring that came with the gauges was sufficient. However, the RB Water Temp adaptor is threaded in a different size than the DEFI Water Temp Sensor. I think it would be fair to say the Oil Filter sandwich block would be the same way. That's easily fixed by going to the plumbing section of Lowe's/Home Depot and buying an adaptor fitting. IIRC, you need to go from 3/8" down to 1/8". The only other problem I experienced was after I put in the RB Water Temp sensor; I got an air bubble in my coolant lines and couldn't get hot air in the cabin anymore. Quick little bleed and refill solved it.

so just those 2 adapters?

ScudRunner 01-19-2006 10:13 PM

You might need three, one for the water temp and one each for the oil pressure and oil temp. That should do it for ya.

thanks so much!
