Just installed this in my 8
Factory Style button replaces the black blank left of the steering column, on the dash. It's in the panel with the traction control, and dimmer buttons.

I've been looking for something like this... I was also looking at the Parrot kits but this seems like alot better minus the Caller ID part.

How much was it and where can I get this kit?

juiceRx8 07-24-2008 01:13 PM

While having a stock type bluetooth may seem cool for being seamless, if you have an aftermarket radio you are almost assuredly better off going with that vendor's bluetooth module for things like address book download, text messaging, etc. not to mention easier to install electronically (no wire splicing).

ghanaboy 07-25-2008 12:08 PM

Will this work together with the Audiolink that I've already installed?

juiceRx8 07-25-2008 01:27 PM

I can't go into detail with prices on here, but i can if you email me.

With this unit, it wont make a differance if you have an after markert stereo or a factory one installed, it will work with both types just the same. As for the display issue, the other kit has a display but doesn't mean it will deffinetly show your phones info. That feature is dependent on the type of phone you have, not to mention, on a 2.5 inch screen, who can see it anyway while driving? LOL

Very slick! I will be buying one if I get an 8 assuming a reasonable price.

And for those of us with 7" inch aftermarket screens and HUs? Well I always knew size mattered anyway.....

I am a little confused. The only way you can answer calls is by using the button that you'd install onto the car? You have no interaction with the actual phone?

I am interested in this...I am wondering how it will work with my Audiolink setup along with my iPhone 3G.

That is correct, Bluetooth enables two or more devices to communicate wirelessly with each other. This device runs Bluetooth version 1.5 which will work with phones that run Bluetooth v. 1.5 and 2.0. Once the phone is paired with the unit you can make a call through the kit by pressing the blue lit " handset icon" and end the call by pressing the red lit " handset with the line through it". After pairing the phone and unit, there after when you turn on your vehicle, your phone will ask you if you want to bond with the unit, press "yes". When you recieve a call, it will turn off the radio or mute it instead ( depending on how you wire the device ) the phone will ring through the speaker of your choice ( center channel on mine, Bose system). Press the blue button and begin your conversation. To hang up simply press the red button. To make a call Press the blue button and "if your phone has this feature" a voice will prompt you to say a command. Say "dial" the phone will ask you to say a name. Say the name of the person who you wish to call that is in your phonebook in your phone and it will dial that number automaticly. :blue: You can also dial the number on your phone and press call, it will go through the kit as well.

To my knowledge there isn't a web site that sells this. These are exclusive to Mazda dealers. I work for the company who manufactures it for them, so I am able to get my hands on these for us. Email me at Anthsorr@yahoo.com if your interested in getting one. these will work on all Mazda vehicles '04 and up.

Emailed you. So it's just basically plug and play with the OEM headunit? Does it use the display?

thebiggdaddy 10-16-2008 02:39 AM

Email sent.
