HELP! with iPod integration. need clarification!
Alright. After much searching, i have learned a lot, but am still confused about a few things. Hopefully this can be the final thread meant to help clear things up for everyone.
First off, it has never been explicitly and undisputedly answered: What is the difference between the Neo iOn SP from www.mp3yourcar.com and the Dension ICE-link (also now known as DICE)??? second, for a hardwired (non-fm-transmitter) solution to this issue, what are my other choices besides the above two? auxmod and what else? thanks for any responses EDIT: here are some links to the sites to make it easier for everyone in the future - Neo iOn SP DICE (also, I-Mazda-R, also Dension ICE-link?) The install went easy and and I followed the radio removal instructions that are easily found through the search function, it just plugs right into the 16 pin connector on the back of the radio... install was easy and it works just like described. It does specify radio OS 9.55 or greater, and it does say no text will display on Mazda radios and this is the case for me as well. Regardless the unit is very nice and seems well built. Response from the headunit controls and steering wheel controls is responsive with no lag, and the unit functions consistently. Sound quality is excellent on both the IPOD and the aux in jack (tested with PSP), although having never heard a PIE adapter or other product I cant compare to other wired interfaces. Cables for me are long enough to reach the center console (rear part, not the cup holders) with the DICE box in (behind) the dash. I also put in a 1/8" stereo cable at the same time so it is there.

well, i looked at each one, i can tell you that auxmod one i do not like very much, the ther ones looke much nicer/user frinedly. im guesing that the audiolink one is probably the most popular one since it's been sold out for so long and in backorder, those other two probably just started in the market so they are still available, that neo one is awfully expensive tough. we will have to wait to see who come's up whit a review for these products, i'm definetely down for getting one since im a big ipod user and not very impress with the fm transmitters i've owned.

I use the AudioLink and it works great, the guys at RPM that sell it are really great too and if anything goes wrong will replace it lightning fast. It is also easy to install.
I can't comment on the other brands. |
I just put the order in for an audiolink system, i will let you guys know if it works fine once i get it in the car :) .

i used the audiolink too. did the whole install by my self and im very happy with their product. if you do decided on the audiolink remember to use the redemption code "rx8mp3" for a $20 discount.

I use the D.I.C.E. kit and it was an easy install, works flawlessly and fast, and They have an online email type service that really helps you if you have any problems with installation, they were quick to respond.

so all yours work great??? ive searched the forum and i see soooo many troubleshooting and problem threads with both the dice and the audiolink, i guess im just wary...

well my audiolink works fine. most people wont make a tread to just pop in and say everything is fine, they only come when something is wrong.
