New Install with Problems
 

I just installed a JL Class D 500/1 just powering one 10 W3D4.

I was running some hand me down amp just barely and it was louder! I can not figure out how to tune it correctly. I've got a line converter on the head unit signal... everything is wired correctly. Just not nearly as loud as I know it should be.

Any suggestions on what I should do now?

Give people a chance to come from work, have dinner and then answer...... Do you have the Bose system? Same thing happened to me. It turned out my line converter had wrong impedance ratios(older gen, I had it laying arround for many years in the garage. I bought a new one and followed instructions in a previous thread. I can't find it now but it mentioned that you should connect the line converter to the output of the Bose amp(if you have one) and not to the output of the head unit. Problem solved and it is loud. I also have a single 10 on a .65 cf box that fits nicely.

I figured out what it was.... line converter was correct... lol, just had to turn the signal strength up! that was the duh post from me. Thanks for your post Spear!
