New FOB question

Hi. I recently has to bought a new fob for my 2007 8. Immediately notice that the trunk button open the trunk at once, and not like in my other fob that it has to be hold to open. I prefer this to avoid opening the trunk inadvertently. Is there any mod to change this? Thanks.

don't push the trunk button? :)

Do you know what inadvertently means? Another smarter solution?

For now I'll let the new fob as a spare one and use my old fob as the dd. In other words, will take the shelldude advice, and don't push the button.

I could add to explicitly not inadvertently push the button....

On a serious note, I've never used my original FOBs... i have 3 of them. My switchblade on the other hand has no pause at all... pretty much instant pop the trunk action but it does require a firm push and the button is slightly recessed so that it isn't easily inadvertently pressed.

^^ Sorry for my english. I all the time use the keyless and with the new fob has unintentionally open the trunk. Luckily has hear or see it pop up and close it before leave. I has read that it was a time modification in 2005 models that increase from 0.05 seconds to 0.70 seconds for the trunk button to actuate. I thought that the modification was in the car system but apparently it is in the fob actually, so surely there is no mod to change it. :beer05:

I had the same problem. I had to disable the trunk pop altogether using the button in the glove box. Rarely in the trunk anyway. Use the key if need be.

Just in case you weren't aware, if you lock/unlock your doors with the fob and the lights don't flash, it's because your trunk is popped open. You probably know, but was certainly worth the three seconds of typing.lol

I say the button needs a deeper recess and the delay needs to be ~2 seconds, as it is on many vehicles and all aftermarket systems.

I'm not sure if my 2007 has the glove box button, but will check it. Thanks.

It is a S1 so it should by the TSC button.
