Navigation Question

What i'm trying to do is install a Samsung Tab 2 7.0 into the stock Navi Hood with functioning buttons. I've read through the two threads about car tablets a couple times but have not found a definite answer.

I have already bought the stock navi housing but the people at the junkyard broke the dash bezel when they were uninstalling it from the donor car. I think the car was baking in the sun and it made the plastic brittle. Once they tried to pull up on the clips the dash piece snapped right in half. That being said i'm locating a center dash piece atm and am trying to get things planned out for when i do the install.

My question is about the wiring. I understand that the tablet itself only needs a 3.5mm for sound and the USB plug for charging. What i want to know is if my car that did not come from the dealer with Navi has the OEM harnesses tucked away somewhere in the center dash. I haven't had a chance to take everything apart to take a look.

The navi that i got from my donor car did not come with the wiring harnesses from the donor car. That being said i want to know if that is something i need to find or if someone has an alternative solution, i'd love to hear it.

Personally i always assumed that that harness would already be there considering the power seats and heated seat harnesses are in my car even my car doesnt have those options. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Nope you wont have any Navi wiring. Im in the process of doing the same kind of mod but I got a full kit off ebay with harness and full Bose system. I'm not planning on using the harness due to how much work it would be to swap out. I'm just going to tap into power at the fuse box.

If you dont intend on using the harness how do you intend on connecting the wire to the pins of the navi hood? Would you be interested in giving me or selling me the harness?

Ill be doing more of a raspberry pie carputer setup so I just need power from the fuse box and the pie will control everything. I mainly got that kit for replacement parts down the road if needed so I wont be selling them.

I think i what i'm going to end up doing is removing the plastic harness piece on the PCB board and soldering wires onto it. Would you or anyone happen to know how to wire the car to the PCB board? I found https://i.imgur.com/sQbmP.jpg?1 on one of the previous posts. I'm just unsure where i could get hold of a wire to splice into that will go to the battery. Wouldn't this drain my battery?
