I use the iTrip and it works great but there's a few things to know:

* Works best in an area with some free frequency's. 87.9 FM is free in vancouver as is 89.5 so no problem. On the other hand i couldn't find a free frequency in Phoenix to save my life. So it depends where you are.

* Big battery suckage. Not a prob in the 8 though, just get the Griffin Powerpod and plug it into the centre console power outlet.

If you live in a large American city i doubt this is a good solution for you - you may want to look at the cassette player option or a line out solution.

Do some more searches/reading in the Audio forum, which is where I'm moving this thread to -- there's too much information to summarize for you.

ok I'll be nice and tell you whats up but next time search please, first, DO NOT buy andy FM transmitters, they are miserable instead...BUY THE MAZ ALP PIE ADAPTOR (from thew a vendor here rx8garage.net) then buy a denison icelink for the alpine M-bus adaptor...you can get a cradle or a cable dock

then install the PIE adaptor into the back of the HU, plug in the denison icelink to the din connector on the PIE adaptor...and plug in the IPOD, now you can control your ipod from the steering wheel and the stereo controls...hifi aux in, AND it recharges your ipod'

Please note: you need HU version 9.55 or higher (check buy pressing the text button and preset 1 at the same time) if you have a lower HU (ie 9.53) you will need to upgrade it, rx8garage.net does that service as well

two words, f_cking perfect!
