Moonroof Issue

So a few days ago my brothers, a friend and I took my car up to Lafayette to go Rock Climbin. my bro, 5'10" sat in the back since my friend's taller. While sittin there I had the moonroof back and he noticed that there's a BAR that pops up whenever the moonroof goes back, and that if that bar were to stay DOWN, the airflow could reach them in the back, as well as decrease the wind noise... is there anyway to fix that?

Can I just remove the bar? Is it really necessary? Probably a noob question and Im sure I'll get lots of witty remarks, so let me have 'em!

you could probably tape it down but i would advise against removing it. My old accord had one too, and it was usually stuck down from my grandparents never opening the sunroof. I never paid it much attention except when I'd hit a pothole or something and it would break free and pop up.

I have found that if you open the moonroof just a little bit, it will hold the bar down on its own and you will get a good amount of air across your face or hair, depending on how far open the roof is.

lot of drag when that bar is taped down

Ugh you don't want that thing taped down. That bar is there because it is a wind deflector to reduce drag. :uhh:

I third that. You will get more airflow in the cabin but you pay for it with crappy dynamics.

don't remove it.
Our car has back seats?!

Yeah I kinda figured it was there to reduce drag. Didnt think it'd be very much drag though.. but heh, either way that helps, thanks!

I had MORE wind noise when I held the car down.... meh... I didn't buy my car to haul around friends. Going on two years of ownership and had someone in the backseat one time.
