Loose positive terminal?
 

While changing my battery I noticed that the positive terminal connector would not attach tightly to the positive post of the battery. It would appear to be tight but once I twist the connector back and forth it would slip off the positive terminal. I assumed this was due to a broken positive connector so I ordered a new positive connector unit. I installed the new part today and the connection does seem tighter but the connector will still slide off if I make a twisting motion.

I then figured it's probably the design of the battery post so I tried out a different battery and the result was still the same. Now I'm just confused. Is it suppose to slide off if you twist the connection back and forth? I looked at the positive terminal connector on another car and that car's seems to have a more robust design that grips really well compared to this cheap looking mazda version.

Has anyone noticed any problems with their postive battery terminal connector?

Here is a cheap and easy way to fix your problem loosen the connector and put in a small piece of metal in there. That will make up the difference and your connector will tighten fully and you wont be able to twist it.

BG has Battery Cable Savers. When battery terminals have been cleaned from heavy corrosion, sometimes this results in a grinding away of the post. When that occurs, the battery cable cannot be tightened enough to create a solid connection. ok thanks. I'll look into the BG battery savers. The only concern is my battery is new. I'm thinking all our connections are like mine and it's fine as long as no twisting motion happens.
