Looking for Reverse Wire under Dash
 

Can anyone tell me where in the front of the car I can find a reverse wire.
I'm installing a backup camera and don't want to down the console if I can avoid it.

I know - the one in the back is on the backup lights. Does this wire go forward to the dash and the fuse panel by the front door. None of the fuses are for the backup lights according to my manual.

Possibly....
 

Power goes from the ignition switch to the reverse switch on the tranny, (passenger side, up near the shifter) thru the lights, to ground.

There IS a power wire that comes forward to the dimming mirror, if equipped, to turn off dimming while in reverse.

do you have nav? there is one in the wiring bundle

Yes - I have NAV. What wire is it in the bundle? Does the bundle come forward past the ash tray?

The nav reverse wire is a red/yellow, but I think it goes to the "dvd" unit behind the cupholders.

The mirror wire is also red/yellow.

Am I gonna be able to find this red/yellow wire in the wire bundle going down the left top side of the console? I have to remove the front (gear shift) console to get at the ash tray anyway. I was hoping that there would be an obvious wire from a switch by the gear shift (automatic) but none of them appear to be reverse.

in the MT the sensor is inside the transmission, I'm not sure where the AT sensor is...
