Legality- Navi or iPod Video?

has anyone here ever gotten ticketed for having video playing on their navi or video ipod while driving? am just wondering where the legal line is drawn as far as front seat video goes...

for example, if your passenger is watching an ipod or navi dvd movie but the screen might also be viewable to the driver, does that automatically make it illegal? or, if you have video running on your navi or video ipod but aren't watching it, is that illegal?

please share your experience... thanks.

i think the stature implies something along the lines of the video source having to not be anywhere within the driver's field of vision. but from what i understand.. here in l.a. cops are mostly concerned with video's distracting other drivers (such as placing a monitor in the back of the headrests of the rear seats, which many people here do)

i c... well, i'm just curious as to whether ppl have been ticketed or pulled over for this kind of thing and what the circumstances were.

I did read about a cab driver (in NYC, I think) getting busted for watching porn while driving.

"Full motion video" in the driver's field of vision. Nav does not count as video. Music videos, movies and games do. The other thing I've wondered is about the screen saver type displays. Such as what WinAMP or Windows Media Player does while music is playing. Is that considered full motion video?

I have a AVIC N1 and have been pulled over once for the 3 years I've had it for the screen. I always have my N64 on with Mario 64 on the screen and it plays itself and so I got pulled over. Only a warning

i c... well, at least only a warning. i wonder how the cops can even see the screen from far away unless they're trolling for a reason...
