Ipod integration + Ipad will it work
 

will the Ipod integration work with a Ipad. Im getting a big retro check at work for money owed to me so i want to get both. i have some ipod stereos at home that dont charge the newer ipods so will it be a problem. anyone using this setup?

And it probably will. An iPad is essentially an over-sized iPod touch.

i am going to replace my head unit with an ipad, from what i have understood you can hook it up to an xcarlink one for different car models (not rx8), and am assuming that the rx8 should work, and it is also harder for an iphone to work and charge and receive calls than a standard ipod or ipad (old aftermarket ipod chargers wouldnt work with iphones).

im chucking a moulded ipad in where the head unit it for a clean stock install, and moving the headunit and ac controls in the glove box, and then i can still switch between radio, still use steering wheel controls and the screen wont lock out. (plus all the sat nav, movies and even obd-II device apps going for gauges and info

il get that up n running in the next few weeks, if it doesnt work, im making my own "line in" which integrates a ipod remote hooked up to the steering wheel buttons, going into an aux in the H/U... il chuck a diy up when i do it
