iPod adapter - confused
 

Sorry to post another ipod adapter thread but the ones I've been reading through just leave me confused, especially when 2 posts on the same unit conflict each other as far as functions supported or how they work.

I have an 05 Touring with the BOSE system with built in CD changer. It has the SAT and TAPE/MD buttons on it but neither are installed on this car.

I've read that some of these use the CD changer port on the radio. Is that port for an external changer or does using that disable the internal CD changer?

I'm looking for something that is easy to install, charges the ipod while it is plugged in, is controllable from the steering wheel controls, compatible with iPod Touch, and it would be a bonus if it had a bluetooth option. I've only seen bluetooth discussed with one particular model but, if there is more than 1 unit that does what I'm looking for and only 1 of those supports bluetooth, that would probably be my decision maker.

The CD Changer Port on the back of the radio IS for an external CD Changer. The internal CD Changer does not use nor disable this port. However, if your car has satelite radio or the Mazda hard drive solution thing, that port is used already. Axxess is the only device that uses the Tape/MD port on the bottom of the radio which is only used by the factory Tape or Mini-Disc option which nobody wasted their money on.

I don't have SAT radio, but the button for it is there. I don't care what port I have to use as long as the adapter will charge the ipod and allow the ipod to be controlled from the radio or steering wheel. I don't really care that the ipod may be locked out as I wouldn't want my daughter looking down and trying to control an ipod while driving anyway. I just want something that will control and play the ipod through the car stereo, charge the ipod, and if possible provide a bluetooth option for cell phone.

I went and read about the AudioLink adapter that zoomzoom has, with the optional bluetooth adapter. It's available at the rpmstore for $170 total but they are backordered. Is there anywhere else that sells these?
