iPod

New to the forum, please excuse any fax pauxs.
Have just entered into RX8 club.......used 04. Just took it in to have a Dension Ice-link installed for iPod. The technician said it went in flawlessly but he was unable to get the HU powered back up. The iPod was charging, and the " Dension" logo appeared on the iPod scrreen, but no power to HU, no info. on dash screen, no radio/cd and also no A/C. The fan switch worked fine, as did all the dash lights, just no HU power. All connections were tripled checked as were all fused. Dension was called and all they had to offer was maybe the module was bad and they have another one being shipped. Has anyone else had similar issues?

You'd have better luck looking in Interior, Audio, and Electronics section.

Yes, I had the same problem when installing my AudioLink iPod adapter. Got it all connected and it worked fine, then I tried splicing some wire so that I could put my iPod in the secret compartment and aparently crossed a wire. The HU did the exact same thing that yours is doing, took it to the dealership and it turned out that the HU was fried. I didn't say anything about installing an iPod adapter, and they didn't ask if I had done anything, so it was covered under waranty.

I'm assuming that they disconnected the Ice-link and you are having the same issue? If so, I would take it to your dealership and have them check it out.

Also, it was my understaning that Dension's Ice Link doesn't support the RX-8, although they may have re-added it to their supported list. You may just want to send it back and check out the AudioLink from RPM. Besides the problem that I had (which was my screw up) it works great, very happy with it.

Dension has actually sent me their Dice-link now...but it too won't work due to the HU issue. I too am planning on taking all the Dension hardware out and taking the car back to the dealer and let them fix the HU as the car is under warrenty. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks for your input.
