interior remodeling

what up guys, i bought an 8 with black leaher interior, but have fallen in love with the black and red. Is there anyway i can change this, can i take it to the dealer. Has anyone else done this and how much did it cost.

yeah--the dealer will outsource it to a leather interior shop--but often times their price is better. I'm getting my interior redone in black/tan leather in a couple of weeks-cost with embroidery is about$1440. Aftermarket leather is of better quality than factory anyway, and the door panels are included. The steering wheel is another story; however, I believe Canzoomer sells Mazda color matched steering wheels. Do a search on the forum-this topic has been brought up several times and there are numerous pics. Guys on the forum have pics of black/silver, black/red, and black/yellow aftermarket leather interiors.

I think in a year or two after I've worn down the leather inside I'll get it swapped out with some aftermarket leather. I'd love to have a black/dark grey combo to match the Ti:Grey.

A slight diversion on thread guys, but I would like to do something with the centre console side strips. The trouble is, I don't fancy the 'Carbon Look' MS ones (they are also really expensive), and my side strips are now a little scratched. :( I was thinking about getting them metal coated, and then plastic coated on top of that (to protect them), but I don't know how to go about getting this done. I suppose you could get them 'Piano Black'ed too, but the same applies... I think both of these solutions would look cool. Much better than the factory Mazda ones....

Yeah, you might want to wait till your OEM seats are worn out before having your leather seats "upgraded". Unless it really bothers you...

I had my seats re-done through a local distributor of Classic Soft Trim Leather, imo the best you can get in a not-so-wide field.
I went with Black trim and charcoal gray perforated leather, and while I was at it,I had the headliner changed to black-from that nappy institutional gray Mazda stuck in my car.

could u take a pic of it preacher? i'd love to see what the aftermarket leather looks like

My seats are that style, except I didn't have'rx-8' embroidered, and my stitching's black, and the inserts are perforated charcoal leather....
I also had matching perforated charcoal door inserts made to replace the (imo nasty) stock gray velour.
