Installation of Recaro sport seats

has anyone tried putting in Recaro seats like this...

Do they fit ok? Does it give you a lower seating position than the OEM seats? Other seating options that offer more lateral support than OEM? Mostly for daily driving, not track. Thanks.

if you want seats like that .... why not just get the new 8 seats? when you add in the harness, mounting brackets, time and other needs, the price is close.

with the new rx8 recardo seats .... they are most likely bolt on and are 100% compatable and will fit right.

Was thinking about that actually. Are they selling them now as an accessory now in NA? Have you seen pricing? Links? Thanks.

If its mostly for daily drive, then I would stick with the stock seats.

You realize if you switch the belts to harnesses your not going to be able to move in the seat, right? Can't reach glovebox, no reaching under seat, no reaching behind you.

I would keep using the OEM seat belts. I'm just looking for a firmer and more bolstered seat like a Recaro provides -- like the new RX8 has. The 8 way adjustability of OEM is nice but I'm certainly willing to give that up for a better seat.

Me too - I'm not crazy about the drivers side support. Your issue will be the airbag light will be on from disconnecting the seat airbag.

The Mazda Recaros will probably be ridiculously expensive due to the side airbag. There would be no way to buy it without since it's sewn shut inside.

Hmm... if that's the case, I would go aftermarket and get something that looks similar anyway. Curious as to weather anyone on the board has done this. Would like to know if it's difficult and whether the effective seat height is lowered vs OEM - I hope so.
