Illuminated Shift Knob and Custom Boot

2 Attachment(s)
Thought I would post some pics of my illuminated shift knob and custom boot (black w/red stitching - thanks Mark from Polak Graphics). I didn't think this would look so good -- but the custom boot really makes a difference!

Now if anyone can tell me how to make the shift knob illumination the same intensity as the other red lights...

Thanks Darien; Looks Great; if anyone else would like one see this thread for ordering instructions:

Order page is here:

PS I'll post you a DIY on making them brighter in the near future.

The shift knob illumination actually is much brighter than the other interior red lights; therefore, I am looking for a way to lower the intensity of the shift knob illumination

Thats easy too, give me till easter.

Conundrum 03-21-2007 07:06 PM

How much did it cost you for the illumination knob?

PoLaK 03-21-2007 07:19 PM

They cost about $225 new, i'll have a used one for sale red and black leather for sale in about a week.

Conundrum 03-21-2007 07:57 PM

The only guy i ever sold one of those too was Whealy, see the below thread, he dye'd all of his interior pannels blue, otherwise if you have an all balck interior it would look kinda TACKY IMHO.

Is there a way to remove the lens on the shift knob without breaking it? the power cord broke, and not enough is exposed to solder it back together.

Jedi54 03-28-2007 02:37 PM

I remember wanting an illuminated shift knob when I first bought my car but I kept reading about how fragile they are! Some guys were taking them apart and redoing the connections....
