I want to power an iPod and get audio out with one device
When looking at the various car chargers for iPods, I see plenty that either a) power the iPod only or b) power the iPod and provide FM modulation.
However, I already have the AuxMod hooked up to my stereo, so what I'm looking for is a car charger that provides power for the iPod and provides audio out, be it a 1/8" jack or RCA connectors. I know I could simply get a charger and then a separate cable for audio from the headphone jack, but I'd rather have one wire coming from the iPod and get a line-out, not a headphone out. Anyone know of a charger/line-out? Seems like, based on the price of chargers and modulators that it should be somewhere between $20 and $40. Thanks! ~ Matt |
Belkin and Monster both make something that you are looking for. The both run about $39. I got the Belkin one from Target for $38. My only complaint is the cord in a little too short. I don't know how long the Monster's cable is but I would check it out. You can find it at walmart.com

I have a Griffin charger for my iPod that has a line-out jack on the lighter adapter. You will still need to run a 1/8" cable from the lighter adapter to the AuxMod, but you will only have one cable hooked to the iPod itself.

Thanks! I'll have a look at all of the ones the two of you recommended. I'll see if I can find some links.
