i have a problem, can some1 help me?
i have the stock head unit with locs
1 10 jl audio 1 mono alpine amp and 80% of the time when its hot and i turn the system off or on mute the bass jus goes flat when its supposed to be off and its really annoying also the bass does not go down when the volume does thats a diff issue tho |
and even when i switch songs inbetween the time it takes for new song to play the bass jus blaresssss at full blast

Check your ground.
Check all of your connections (one is most likely loose)- especially your ground and power, or you may have two bare wires touching.
ok checked that and did nothing but i did make a new discovery......
even with my car stero powered off but battery on when i have the trunk open its fine but when i close the trunk bass line goes flat as loud as possible any suggestions? |
how are you powering your remote input for the amp?
You could probably solve this problem by going to an auto install shop and having them hook it all up again for you. Does your amp turn off when the radio is off?
I think he's using an auto sense for his remote turn on instead of tapping a real remote line. Theres a thread here about how that can cause a sustained bass tone to play when you close the trunk
circuit city installed
Circuit City warranties their labor for life. Provided you don't screw with the installation. So make it look like you never touched anything, and then take it into any Circuit City nationwide.

loc connected to rear speakers, and signal sense is used on the jl amp instead of remote turn on. rear speakers move (even when no music is playing) sending signal to amp, amp amplifies signal, playing subs, subs move air, which moves rear speakers, rinse repeat. it has been discussed before, but its probably lost in the threads. its actually better to tap at the factory amp for front spks or at the radio, and use a turn on lead
