How much I Hate HONDA???

1 Attachment(s)
When my car was coming from Japan (probably)
some stupid f*** stole my OEM illuminated shift knob.
So the dealer thought it was wise to put another 6-speed knob on
before delivering to me.
Guess what?
It was surprise to find out that it was the knob from a Honda S-2000/RSX.
It 6speed , quite delicated, it matches my interior perfectly BUT...
I H A T E H O N D A.....
So I ordered the illuminated OEM knob as it should be.

Check out the pic...
what do ya think?

You should have taken it up with the dealer...

i don't get why everyone loves to hate hondas, they make decent cars that are relatively fun to drive.

the rx8 isnt much farther than a honda in the eyes of some euro drivers

i personally prefer to laugh at cavalier and neon owners

btw, the s2000 knob is one of the nicest factory knobs I've seen

legendkurado 07-24-2007 03:08 PM

you hate it because it is honda or also because of the design aspect of the knob? I think the knob looks pretty good

mikeferz42 07-24-2007 03:13 PM

if you wanna sell the shift knob, I WILL GLADLY BUY IT. PM ME NOW!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why people hate so much on Honda's, they have so much potential and the s2000 is an already nasty car...

½mv² 07-24-2007 04:35 PM

I think people hate Honda not because of the cars that they make, but because there is a massive subculture running rampant in the world that is dedicated to making Hondas look as rediculous as humanly possible.

MazdaJeff 07-24-2007 04:41 PM

My first car 15 years ago was a civic SI. Was one of my favorites.

i think honda makes solid economy cars for the masses w/ decent features, reliable, and overall a good value for ppl looking for the run-of-the mill commuter vehicle.

however, their designs tend to be bland. and when they do try to do something more high-tech or sporty, they go off the deep end and over do it. all-in-all, they just never can leave good enough alone with their designs and every 4-5 years radically change everything- be it body styles, interior styles etc. but, most of the time, nothing is really improved and it's all cosmetic.

for example, i think that the civic is a really fun, economy car. but, if u look at the design of the late 80's civics, they look ridiculously dated compared to other comparable cars of that era. honda always misses the mark by either going too weird or too conservative. they are all over the place- like a kid who can't decide if he wants a cookie or a candy bar.

and, that's not all. honda also has some of the snobbiest dealerships/ salespeople i have ever met. arguably, -maybe- only marginally better than bmw car sales. maybe worse even. they are so arrogant and so condescending that they totally ruin and take all the fun out of car shopping/ browsing on the weekend. ie, they actually make u feel like not going there.

just my .02 and exp w/ honda...

My '93 Accord LX has 200,000 miles on it and it's still going strong. So, at the very least, you can't hate Hondas for being unreliable.

WoodsOfGreenRx8 07-24-2007 07:18 PM

Ive never had a problem at a Honda dealership, nor at the Acura dealership since we picked up the TSX..

coolstorm92 07-25-2007 12:13 AM

honestly the oem s2000 knob is much nicer than the rx-8 oem knob (in fact I ditched mine immediately for the voodoo knob), but still that is pretty lame of the dealer

NgoRX8 07-25-2007 12:20 AM

why's it all scratched?

Because dealers always have a box of scratched/busted/worn shift knobs. People's watches, rings, etc can quickly scratch up the knob and they have to be replaced when they're sold.

You should have seen the POS knob the dealer put on my 8 when they couldnt find when I bought it. It was a stock 8 knob but it looked like someone had put it in a clothes drier with a sack of nuts and bolts.

chickenwafer 07-25-2007 12:47 AM

I think it actually looks good.

At least it has the 6-spd pattern and you didn't get a base model Civic 5-spd knob.

Honda isn't a bad car company. Take apart a K20A2 motor sometime- the thing is overbuilt to the max and features some really cool parts, like a fully counterweighted and balanced forged crankshaft. Stuff you only see in American car performance books.

9kto10k 07-26-2007 12:07 PM

My last car was a s2000 and like you I hated Hondas till I bought my S and all I have to say is that the s2k was a fun car very fast in the coners and out of the box is faster than the RX8. But I had to let her go I needed more room and I always wanted an RX8 so a few months ago I bought myself a 2007 stormy blue RX8 and i like it as much as my S. I Just got an egency power exhaust and clear coners today should be fun

Andreas Neophytou 07-26-2007 03:46 PM

I think that S2000 is one of the finests
The thing is that Cyprus is full of Hondas.
I got sick of them.
You ask: "what r u driving?"
The answer is 80% : "Honda"
The other think is that I prefer OEMs.
And I said so. It matches my interior. But in nighttime I cannot stand this NON illumination. :)
I will definitelly go for the OEM illuminated for 200 bucks.

Spinning Sushi 07-26-2007 03:48 PM

I F*CKING LOVE MY HONDA! My 06 Honda CBR600RR that is :p:

If you wanna buy I am open for offers (be generous), after all 200 bucks for the 8 OEM is a lot of money

Crazy Rx-8 Driver 07-28-2007 02:45 PM

I'll trade you my stock OEM knob for the S2000. I currently have the Voodoo knob. bought that immediately when i got the 8 so the OEM knob is fairly new.

Andreas Neophytou 07-29-2007 12:36 PM

Not interested for trade because I want the illuminated version (JDM). sorry

Andreas Neophytou 10-02-2007 08:02 PM

Any offers? Anyone. I have to let this knob go

Fortunate Few 10-02-2007 08:16 PM

i hate civics and accords but i have much respect for the s2000
