How to clear nav history?

Does anyone know how to do this. The dealer said "they could read the manual." Well, duh! I did that and can't find anything in it that tells me how to clear the history, addresses, etc. I tried removing the disk and that did nada.

I have no definitive answer, but you could try the factory reset menu option.

Barring that, contact the manuf.

I know mine didn't reset when I was doing some electrical work and unhooked the battery.

Why do you want/need to reset it?

Nav clear

Go back to to Set up mode--there will be prompt- Delete Stored Points---you hit delete- it then ask again- hit it--Gone

It's going bye-bye. I can't continue to support three cars when my wife has a new CLS 500 Benz. Still have my Miata for the moment though snd it's a much more competetive autox car.

:D Well, I tell her it's "her car", but the reality is I drive it most of the time. But, the Miata is still more fun in the sun and its top goes down...the CLS roof is fixed!!!! :p

Frank, can you please explain in detail the procedure of clearing the stored points? I could not find the menu item you mentioned.

Might of course be a reason to clear the nav history.
But I simply feel the growing number of stored points a bit confusing, so I'd like to delete some or all of them.

You delete the stored pointed from the SETUP menu. It is near the bottom, you can delete the stored point, change the icon, and change the name.

The HISTORY - I can't find a way to clear those. It will store the last 50 places (I think, the number is in the manual). Since you can't delete the history, you can just look up and route to 50 places and that will roll your addresses (work, home, etc) out of the history.

As far as I know, the only way to clear the history is to go into a secret menu and select "Cold Start"

It's the secret menu that you access by going to Version and then pressing UP UP UP DOWN DOWN DOWN UP UP or something like that..the secret menu that has tons of submenus in it (not 2 or 3).

Anyway once you get to the secret menu that has the long list of submenus, you choose the LAST submenu on the list (I think it's called CD CHECK?), and on the next screen you'll see Cold Start listed on the bottom. That's the one you want to select.

Unfortunately this not only clears your history, but it also deletes all your marked/stored points, restores the default settings, and changes the area to Northern USA or something like that, so you'd have to program all of that shit all over again.

Setup<ENTER>
Version<ENTER>
up,up,up,down,down,down,up,up

Then you see lots of choices, the GPS info can be used to see your current GPS, etc. Some of the features look like they're not implemented.

If you want to reset all Nav memory (wipe history, etc) go into:
CD Check<ENTER>
Cold Start<ENTER>

After you do that, you need to reset your home location (unless you live in Central US), go back into the hidden setup menu and select:
Software<ENTER>
Map Area<ENTER>

Then choose your region
