I but 2 12 inch jl subs and a 600 watt amp in my 8. Its under subs in my 8 thread. It cost me 700. That best buy set up is cheap, too cheap. The brands probably arent too good.

He's right, that is too cheap. But you don't need to spend $700 either.

Pick up an Infinity Perfect 12, about $180, run it off a nice amp, I'd recommend something like a JBL 600.1 - $230.

Put the sub in a 1.25 cu ft sealed box and I guarantee it'll sound good. :)

If you can stretch to it, pick up two of them and the 1200.1 amp for another $50 and you won't need another back massage for a while ;)

Lovely sounds, for about $400.

You can get an Infinity self-powered subwoofer too... I think I'll go that route. It's called the Inifity Bass Link, and they provide reasonbly good bass.

You can also get a Bazooka Boom Tube and that will do the same thing. They aren't as good as regular subwoofers but they are pretty good, and being self-contained and such, they are easy to install and remove, if you get rid of the car down the road.

How are you hooking up the sub? Are there lines to RCA outjacks running to the back already? A "How-to" should be a sticky thread here...
Thanks!

Get an 8" Powered Bazooka tube, it'll do the job... Those 10's from BestBuy probably won't play the low LOW frequencies that really make the Bose system sound great. You don't need anything huge, the new Bazookas go well below 50 cycles, even the 8".

go professional..

do 8 or 9 subs in the front door pannels, then midrange with 6.5 in a custom made kicker pannels and redo the tweeter fron the door plus add need ones in the pillars, also you could use a center channel. Use focal, infinity (kappa series)
forget about the back of the car!! use the space for nitros :D

well at least thats the ways i would do it..

ps oh yeah the amps.. hang them from the rear pannel, where the stock speaker are.. yeah thats my dream set up. space resolving, yet NICE BIG sound:D :D :D
