Feeler about custom gauge pod?

I am thinking about contacting Lotek and checking on if they can make something close to the Knight Sports gauge pod for our cars. Just reading from their site this would require a minimum of 20 pods ranging from $40-$60 in price.

I would be willing to send the hood for my cluster to help this, just wondering how many would be interested.

Below is the Knight Sports pod.

I think that I would be interested if they offered a 52 mm pod only.

It just stands out way too much.. IMO

Vasichko 08-16-2007 06:42 PM

Well there really are no other options aside from a-pillar or just straight up mounting it on the steering column.

for that price, i'd be willing to buy a set.

sauceyI986 08-16-2007 06:54 PM

I am down to buy a set but those gauges are 60mm Defi gauges how about a set with the one's that sit on the left side and the one to place 3 on top of the dash in the center I just want my gauges to match that's all or maybe I just love the way they look. but I will buy if there only 60mm

mysql101 08-16-2007 06:55 PM

52mm. I don't need large print books or gauges :P

That you are right, and therefore I might just have to go with the A-Pillar.

Vasichko 08-17-2007 09:41 AM

The gauges are not going to come with it, just the pod. Hmm, maybe we have some disagreement regarding 52mm or 60mm.

i'd be interested, i'm open to 52 or 60 (to me it's not a huge difference... 8mm? come on)

mysql101 08-22-2007 01:32 PM

8mm matters more than you think, when one already has gauges in 52 mm size :)

MrSuicideDoor 08-22-2007 01:36 PM

fair enough

sauceyI986 08-23-2007 12:15 AM

Yea 8mm is a difference but i still like to put those nice Defi gauges in it that match the gauge cluster

chickenwafer 08-23-2007 12:23 AM

I was the one who first got Lotek to make the top-dash gauge pod. I doubt they will make they will make two different pods for the 8, unless you can provide them with a list of 20 or more people who will garranteed buy one.

sauceyI986 08-23-2007 12:33 AM

yea i highly doubt it to i just didnt wana pay about $275 for the knights sports gauge pod

TougeFiend 08-23-2007 02:58 AM

I'd like a 60mm one, since all the mad tyte JDM gauges are 60mm  But I'd also be up for a 52mm one, a little more lowkey.

I'd go in on a 2*52mm A-Pillar setup. I'd like a direct "color/texture" matched replacement rather than a stick on too. Lotek did a fine job with the NavLo Pod Cluster.
If they could not color match they could make a set so it looks more factory.

52 mm sounds good to me...

1stgen8 08-23-2007 10:23 PM

I'd be in....I already have the dash pod.

Geesh... That'll mean I will have a total of 9 gauges outside of the factory cluster! I will be driving a space shuttle rather than an 8!
Lets see.
1. Boost / Vacuum
2. Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio
3. Fuel Pressure
4. Oil Pressure
5. Oil Temperature
6. Water Temperature
7. Exhaust Gas Temperature
8. Voltmeter
9. Transmission Oil Temperature or Nitrous Pressure

you could also add:

barometric pressure, ambient temp (C and F of course), current elevation, directional windspeed, horizontal g force, tire pressure, cabin pressure, mpg, and many more. don't give up now!

Right on point with my thinking! I'll have to get a pilots license to drive my car! With so damn many gauges, I will surly be in an accident looking at everything else BUT the road! HA!

swoope 08-24-2007 03:45 PM

gauges.

to do.

boost
afr
oil temp.

scanaliser does the rest..

beers
