Factory nav stopped working 06RX8

Have a 06 RX8. It started with the NAV screen occasionally flickering from night to day mode. Then one day the nav hood stopped working, but if I opened it it would start. Now there is not power whatsoever to the nav hood. I can't get it to turn on. The CD ejects normally. The nav hood doesn't have any power. Any ideas where I should b checking? I'm hoping it's just a connection issue or something simple. Any help? Thanks

the dvd looks good and I can hear it spinning in the player. Where is the fuse for the navhood? I can't find it. Please any suggestions would b appreciated

Another development. I have taken out the radio and navhood, without disconnecting anything the gps randomly started working, then stopped again. It makes me think it's a loose connection somewhere? But everything seems plugged in. I can't get it to turn back on. Any ideas?

Tear it all out install a Nexus 7. The factory NAV is the worst I have ever used.

I would love to but for now if I can keep my stock one running that would b optimal. I mean if it's a simple solution to fix it. But if it's toast then I'll have to look into other options

I'm sure it's not related, but after cleaning my ESS sensor, the GPS started working. Random. The hood doesn't close or open though. But that's fine I just keep it open. Now the weird thing: every time I use my turn signals the GPS flickers from night mode to day mode back and forth. Probably a year ago or so I did the DIY on the turn signal mod, so my side markers act as turn signals. Does this have anything to do with it? I mean how is the turn signals tied into the GPS system?
