Empty trunk template?
Just wondering if anyone has a good drawing or picture of an empty trunk to use for laying out a system etc.? One with all the shape and dimnesions would be awesome, but I'm not sure if anything like that exists so I thought I'd check, I plan on doing 2 subs and an amp at some point and would like to start putting ideas together on paper :)

I was wanting something along the lines of autocad or similar, something I could print up a few copies of sketch stuff on it and chunk it etc.. if I didn't like it, I have lots of ideas for what I want to do but have no way of figuring out which ones will work and which ones are crap etc.., like I said, I'll probably have to take a pic and then play with photoshop or ....

it would actually be relatively easy if you had autocad - I tried it out a few years back, some crazy pro version that was leaps and bounds beyond anything I would ever need - all you would have to do is input the dimensions.
If you want to mess around with it, photoshop really isnt the program you want - you want something like Bryce 3d, so you can put 3D objects into it and actually express the 3rd dimension, not to mention rotate it and do dynamic lighting. Then you do a final render, send it high-quality to photoshop to skin it with your choice of components and colors. I dont see being able to realistically represent it on paper in any useable way - you could make a wireframe model I guess, but it would be pretty cluttered looking without movement to allow your eyes to "see" the 3rd dimension. The professional way to do what you want would be to make a 3D laser measurement of the space. |
