Dying Headliner Black

Hey guys I have a friend who wants to dye his headliner black in his 330CI. Although this is the 8 forum, I assume the process is exactly the same. I know some people on here have done it, so if anyone could chime in on the process, as well as what they used, that would be great. My friend attempted dying it a few days ago, but it turned out all bad. Anyways, let me know. Thanks.

Im actually interested in this also, never thought about dyeing it but then it would at least match the rest of the interior.

same would be interesting to see and deff would look badass

Would the dye take? The headliner is not an organic material and would not dye like a tee shirt would for example. He might end up with an interesting look none the less...

Ask BUNIQUE, he dyed his.

I've had a similar chain of thought for a while, but I'm going decidedly more upmarket with mine...

Will be ordering alcantara soon and doing a wrap of my headliner and door panels with 3M spray adhesive (before anyone tells me it won't work or I will have heat issues, I work part time for an upholsterer and let me tell you, this stuff STICKS, period)

Back to the topic though, your friend may have more luck doing something similar, perhaps not with alcantara, but you can find cheaper black microsueudes that would look acceptable.

You better make a DIY.
