Do they make an RCA style input add on?

Hello all,

I just got my "new to me" RX-8 this past weekend. It has the factory Bose sound and a single CD player. I would love to use my Pocket PC to play MP3's on the stereo.

ANYWAY...I can't remember if it was this site but I could have sworn I'd seen a radio looked stock (but with clever modders it's hard to tell) that had a circular section under under the CD slot that had a set of RCA adapters in it. Looked like at least three from my memory. Would have been right, left and video. Is this real?

This would be the perfect hookup for my PPC Phone I would just need to get a headphone jack to RCA adapter from Radio Shack.

I've tried two different FM transmitters and I just can't get eh audio quality I want from my MP3's.

Thanks in advance...

Newbie RX-8 owner and loving it!

http://www.sylfex.com/products/AuxMod/ it will give you a phonojack input but you can put whatever kind of connector you want on that.

Thanks!

Thanks, it's not quite what I was looking for but it may actually do the job better!

there is a converter that splices the speaker wires and you connect an added wire to it and you have your RCA out, if you want a pic of what it looks like (i have on in mine so i can keep the factory radio) pm me and i'll send ya some pics, hope this is what you were talking about

Since the AuxMod is out of stock until November, you can go with the PIE MAZ/PC-ALP adapter plus the ALP/M-RCA cable combo.
Mazdaparts.com would be a good place to get this, but their site is down right now. Nevertheless, there are plenty other vendors that offer these. Just do some googling, or here is a link to one possible source who has them in stock.

Oh, make sure your head unit's firmware is at least at ver. 9.55 to make this to work - search the forum for the explanation how to see the firmware version.
