Dice Electronics iPod kit blows.
 
After having my Dice kit for less than a year on my 07 RX8, the Dice Kit (an R2 version) has died.

My chief complaints:

1) the Dice kit would CONSTANTLY reset, rendering it useless in the car. When it reset/hang I would not be able to use the car's control to skip/change songs. I'd have to pull out the unit, and plug the dice kit back in to reset the dice kit to make it work again.

2) Text display mode was useless. There was no way to search through the song collections quickly.

3) The iPod connector would not sit securely in the iPod. I'd always manage to jiggle it loose.


In my year with the RX8, i've used the PIE connector from Mazparts (awful customer support), and now the Dice Electronics. Including my DLO FM transmitter, I've probably spent $350+ on iPod crap that doesn't work.

It would've been more expensive to purchase a new dash kit allowing me to buy a Pioneer AVIC (?) unit, but I know it'd be more reliable.

In short:

Dice kit sucks. Mazparts sucks. And now I have no more tunes.

Dude, I bought a cheap GROM kit a month back. Working pretty good so far. I hope it doesn't crap out on me.

I used the Audiolink for almost a year without issues at all. Removed it and upgraded to a Pioneer D3.
