The definitive Basslink install thread.
First of all, I have to admit that I’m a total noob when it comes to car audio. However, with the wonderful help I found on this forum, I was able to successfully install the Neo iPod system in my RX-8 with no complications.
My next project is to install the Basslink. I’ve tried to find the same concise instructions I found for the iPod install, but really haven’t come across anything. Before anyone posts to try out the handy search button…I have. I’ve read about 30 threads, all explaining bits and pieces of Basslink/sub/speaker install. I’m requesting on the behalf of all us beginners out there that someone experienced can put together a “Dummies” tutorial of the Basslink install. This would include: 1. How to run the power and ground 2. How to hook up the remote 3. Which speaker wires to tap into 4. How to secure the Basslink in the trunk It would also be helpful to include any extra items to purchase that would aid in the install. For example, I’ve read about Line Out Converters: What are they? Are they needed? Where do I get one? Maybe it’s better to have it professionally installed. But, seeing as how painless the Neo install went, I thought the Basslink might be just as simple and wanted to give it a try. Thank you very much in advance. |
I hope someone is working on this. I need it badly...

On top of this, has anyone installed the Basslink T. I haven't checked to see if it fits, but have a long background in car stereo's, but am toning down as I age, but still like to hear it loud on occasion.
