Defi Gauge

do they look good?

Um, sorry, but what's a defi gauge?

rabinabo 10-27-2003 12:41 AM

Defi is just a brand of gauges. There was a post earlier with a picture of a gauge pod available for the 8 that goes in the center where the Nav would go, with 3 defi gauges.

Just search for gauge pod, and you should find it. You could also just go to the defi webpage http://www.defi-shop.com/ (found it with google).

Edit: I forgot to mention that they're probably the Defi black out gauges. You can see them here: http://www.defi-shop.com/product/dl/bf/bf_top.htm

They do look really cool, and Defi is a reputable company.

Are you looking for something like this?

rabinabo 10-27-2003 10:13 AM

That's what I was thinking of. I'm pretty sure that's how they would look when they're lit up. When they're off they're completely black.

oosik 10-27-2003 01:30 PM

ok......why?

rabinabo 10-27-2003 01:40 PM

Why not?

rabinabo 10-27-2003 01:49 PM

Actually, what did you mean? Why get gauges? Or why would you want blackout gauges?

If you're running a severely modified ECU then the gauges would be necessary. It might not be a bad idea even for mildly modified cars, but a lot of people get them for the look.

The blackout gauges are a matter of taste of course. You should check out the startup sequence. It's just another toy to play with.

We are currently running the Defi blacked out gauges on our Project WRX II and they would make a great match to the gauges in the stock clulster.

I run the defi link series in my RX-7 and really like them. They light up green and dont match the stock amber lighting. If you are looking for amber gauges checkout the D-Gauge. The Blackout are very nice but expensive.

defi gauge cluster typically cost you $1800 or more... they are really nice, but I'd rather get something else with that amount...
