In dash computer system

Just recently purchased an '05 and was looking at installing an in dash computer but I'm looking for something that is capable of performance monitoring and anti theft. Media and navigation is not neccessary but would be nice. I mainly want something that will immobilize the car without a security code input. Any thoughts?

Yes, I have a thought. Search the many car pc threads.

Not a simple thing when you're using your phone to search.... Especially when your new to the forum in the first place.

Performance monitoring is no problem. Vehicle security on the other hand.... I don't know of anyone doing that. But security systems are a dime-a-dozen. No real advantages to having it integrated with your car pc.

It was more or less the hope of consolidating all my "toys" in one feature

firebirdude Apr 17, 2012 01:17 PM

I hear ya. But I can't think of a single advantage to having it setup like that. It doesn't give you any extra features and doesn't eliminate any equipment. But it would certainly be a headache, at best.

Yeah, so then you expect everyone to spoon feed you the info you seek? If you are going to attempt a car PC setup without searching properly then you are destined for failure.

Just call me one big tease :) :) :)

Shell are you running it through HC?

I'm not looking for anyone to spoon feed me shit, people come to forums to ask for help and it's a considerable headache when we have to deal with ass's about checking past threads or going find the answer yourself. We're here because we're trying to find the answer and maybe bounce ideas off people that have done this before. So either help or dont but for the love of god don't patronize me.... Fucking troll

No, that is exactly what you are asking. Many long time members here have compiled the information you seek on this site over the years and spent considerable time doing so. So we do not want to waste even more time reposting info that is already here.

There is nothing productive or helpful about starting another thread asking for information that is already here in the first place. All that does is make it harder for the people who actually research first before posting questions (who are welcomed with open arms) to get the answers they need.

There is a search function for a reason. And if you don't like hearing that then tough.

I have been using the search function, and please note the end of my initial post says thoughts, not tell me how to do it.

Edit: And just realized the title of that thread is almost identical to the title of this one you created. :pat:
