Custom Sub Box Question

I know a few of you guys have made your own custom sub boxes for your 8's, and some of them look unbeleivable. I have definately decided to go ahead and start my own project, which I will proabbly base off of this very helpful thread created by 1145climber. I just had one question for those who have created their own fiberglass boxes, and this is where did you actually mount the box to the 8 (where did you screw from the box into the body)? any pictures woud be greatly appreciated. Also, for the mounting rings, is there a good website to purchase them from? i managed to find this wesbite which seemed very reasonable. any help/tips are also appreciated.
thanks

I've always either had my boxes fit the space so well that they dont need to be secured, or simply 'screwed' the box into carpet, and thats more than enough to keep it there.

Aside from tapping for a ground, I've never screwed into a car's metal body.

Securely mounted sub = more bass.

hey! thats me! hahah, thanks a lot though, just tryin to help out the community.

what i ended up doing was placing two rows of velcro strips on the bottom of my fiberglass enclosure, and two matching strips on the carpet below... make sure you line them up perfectly so that they actually match up with each other. I like this setup for a few reasons. First, it doesnt hurt the car at all. Second, it keeps the sub firmly in place, even around agressive cornering. Granted, i took out my enclosure when i went autocrossing, but for every-day driving, its more than fine. and finally, it allows me to easily remove my box, as i left a quick-disconnect in the wiring. though not as "firmly" attached as jstkilntim might suggest, and he does have a valid point, i find that its more than good enough.

as for the ring - I had tweeter make mine for me... they should do it for 20-30 bucks if you give them the specifications as to what you want. i'm sure any circuit city, best buy, tweeter, or any other place wth a car audio install center will do this for you. you can also make one though, if you have the right tools... i think i linked to a good site in the guide.

good luck, and have fun!
