jds

I can't give any updates here until we buy in to become a forum advertiser. We've got another batch of AuxMod Basic modules in progress which should help us to make that a reality soon.

Just wanted to say how good I think the Aux Mod is. And I received an excellent prompt delivery to the UK.

It is a simple cost effective solution to a requirement that all MP3 player owners will have. Mazda should have included this feature as standard long before now.

If it's an RX-8, make sure that you check the two lower connectors below the radio. those are the ones that run the fan/heat/ac. if they aren't plugged in fully, they disable the whole HVAC system.

Thanks- I'll check later. I thought I may have screwed up the head unit at first. I've actually installed the Aux mod on my previous RX8 and had no problems at all so couldn't understand where I'd gone wrong.

The updates about updates?

We've got a link on the 'news' portion of our website about reflashes for a few of the 06's that didn't always work perfectly...

Otherwise, we're still chugging along... ... ...

Still hoping for some updates? I don't really care about advanced or basic, just want a headphone jack in my 8. You're definatly the guy I want it from, but waiting is becoming a hassle.

Normally the next business day, unless the order is pretty late in the day. I've been out of town most of the past week.

Another satisfied AuxMod customer!

Received the AuxMod Basic in less than a week after order.

Install took less than an hour.

Works great!

Thank you very much!

Talking

I just installed the basic last night...radio removal sucks...but the auxMod is a great product.

I LOVE being able to use my ipod, sirius and CD changer...AUXMOD RULES!

However, getting the basic wet my appetite for the advanced!

Where is is? I want it!

*not so patiently waiting*

I'm anxiously awaiting the advanced also. Has the initial 10 gone out as stated in the news section on the sylfex website? It's now May and I haven't heard any updates on any of this.

Finished the install yesterday (just in time to take the 8 in to be fittted with the replacement Yokos). Sounded great with the IPod, but got the buzz with the Sirius Sat Radio, so I had to get the ground loop isolator plus a bevy of connectors. Had I been thinking, I would have gotten the mini stereo to RCA cable and the ground loop isolator hidden too. As it is, I will now have to pull out the console again to hide the GLI. Sigh.

However, everything sounds Great

Hey guys. Been off the boards for a while. I never remembered to order this back in the day when I got notified about it. I never got my HU firmware upgraded so my PIE interface is basically useless. Your unit doesnt need the formware update right? if so I'd sell of the PIE and buy this sucker.

Any clue when you'll have more in stock? I could live with teh Xm being FM tuner'ed, but I'd much p0refer my Ipod to be a line in if I can manage it soonish.

Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a GLI (a Radio Shack part number or web vendor would be sweet!). I'd also like a general range of what one might cost.

Thanks.

Okay, sorry to have to ask stupid questions, but I've had two beers and I'm slower than my normal slow.

I see from the link that Swoope kindly posted what I think are two sets of "RCA jacks," both male, one set for input, one set for output.

My Auxmod has a "male" out mini connection when it reaches my center console. That's all I have to work with. This male mini-jack then connects to a Belkin adapter that ultimately runs to my Ipod's docking port. How do I insert the GLI?

It seems I need, 1) the GLI, 2) the conversion plug with two female RCA plugs on one end, and a female mini-plug on the other and 3) the conversion plug that has two female RCA plugs on one end, and a male mini-plug on the other.

Questions: 1) Am I right?. 2) If so, where can I find the right conversion plugs? (part number or web page appreciated) and 3) is this a reasonable way to go? It seems a bit like some of my Christmas tree wiring. Might there not be a GLI with a female mini-connector input, and a male mini-connector output?

Thanks.

you are going to have to visit the store and match up the rca adapters yourself... they will help you...

it is a good idea to take everything you are going to mate with you.

VERY IMPORTANT. make sure that you get stereo adapters...

Instructions

Somewhere around post six there is a general map of what connectors to use with the GLI. That should help you out. And Swoope is great when it comes to figuring this stuff out.
