Custom 2 way speaker install, pics
If someone wuz intersted of making a custom install, this wuz the way i did it.
I used a DSL 2-way system (tweeters and mid-bass speakers) with crossovers. It SOUNDS BEUTIFULL ! 1. First take this out of your car :) and cut the plastic box out http://web.vip.hr/topcic.vip/mazda_music/DSC08336.JPG |
2. Make a paper model of the box

5. Try to see does box fits into the plastic

6. Fill the edges of the box so air does not leak

7. Try to make the box to fits better to the plastic (remove the edges)

8. Make the holes on the plastic

10. Fit the box with the plastic and glue it

That's pretty slick, dodo_croatia. Well done! :D
I'd like to move this to the DIY (Do It Yourself) forum, but doing so will break all your picture links, so I'll have to tackle it when I have more time. |
Damn...between this thread, and the other thread about putting the speakers there, i am doing it...probably next weekend...

Yeah, me too. Funny thing is, using wood never occured to me. D'oh!

Wiring for the above
How would you wire the speakers in the custom set-up? Could you just power them from the existing amp under the rear deck? Sorry if this question is a bit lame.

I think that bose amp is not enough powerfull to handle the custom system, but it is possible. I have conected them to bose amp to see if they even work before putting my amp, sound wuz not good.
