Corksport steering wheel control VS PAC SWI (problems with delayed response)
Hi guys,
I ordered a corksport kit without the corksport steering wheel controls. After reading a few threads I've noticed that people have complained about the Pioneer PAC SWI steering wheel controls having a delayed response when one of the buttons is pressed (avg 1 second delay). Does anyone have any experience with the corksport steering wheel controls? Is there a delayed response when using this unit too? I'd like to save 50 dollars and go with the PAC SWI off ebay, but not if I can get something that doesn't have a delay (i.e the corksport steering wheel controls). I'm going to be installing a AVIC D3 is that makes any difference? Thanks for the help guys! |
From what I've read it's not hte pac swi, it's the interface that pioneer uses for steering wheel controls. So if you're going with an avic (which is what i have) you just have to accept the lag.
The lag is more like 1/2 a second and it's only for the first push. If you're holding down the vol + or arrow up once it engages it will scroll till you let go. |
I have a PAC SWI with my Kenwood HU and there is usually a very brief lag on mode change and about a 1/2 second lag on volume and channel change.

I have to admit I was a little disappointed, but have gotten over it and now couldn't care less. Looking back on it, I'd still save the $50 even if the Corksport one was more responsive. |
