Is CDText supported in mazda cd player?

 

.....not 100% sure, but I don't think so.

 

No, the 8's CD player doesn't support CD text. Darn it. I just discovered Toast will support CD text, and since neither the 8 nor my CD player will, it's a cool feature that does me absolutely no good.

 

Isnt it silly that we have that retro "Mazda RX-8" readout on startup but it cant do cd-text!

the mp3 player will display Id3 tags

 

The MP3 player also displays CD-Text. Though in my selection of CD's there aren't that many that have it.

 

cd-r's being so cheap, i burn a copy {with CD-text} of every new CD I buy , it's great to see title and other info and have excellent sound at the same time !

 

The reasonwhy there are shortcomings w/the interior features is b/c ---- its a Mazda. Theydidnt even bother upgrading/adding features that weremissing and wanted from the 2004 Rx8 for its 2005 season. Rememberyou didnt buy a carfrom one of those manufacturers thatpeople praise like BMW Infiniti or Mercedes. Mazdadoesnt exactly have the greatest reputation. For whatits worth the Rx8 is agreat car but these small things thatMazda NA continues to neglect are what keepthem below the big boys.

 

it's all just a tradeoff... this is a lot of car fro the relatively little money... I'd gladly spend 10k less and live without CD Text!
