Anybody having problems with the cd player skipping? im sure its not my cd's cause none of them are scratched and it seems like its skipping when i go over bumps...even the slightest bumps....T_T

Yep, some of my newest CDs skip, and some do it pretty badly. Has nothing to do with scratches or bumps. Very odd.

Same.

think theres any way to fix it? or can i just go to dealer and ask them to look at it? cause its extremely annoying..especially on the freeway.. -_- it should be under warranty am i correct? cause its an electrical problem rite?

This problem has been discussed lots of times. The only solution we came up with is to change to Mazda's 6 DISC CD player or an MP3 player like I did.

I dontthink there is anything the dealership can dofor you/cant fix this problem b/c its just the nature of the cheap hardware Mazda is using for the single disc CD player.

I dont worry about it anymore though b/c I justgot the MP3 CD player installed which is great (though thats 270 bucks I couldbe using for gasoline) and nowI have redone all my CDs and turned them into 100+ track CDs instead of 18 a piece so now Ive only got 3 or 4 CDs in my car plus it displays the track informationon the head unit screen. This MP3 CD player doesnt skip at all on bumps or rough roads.

CD Player Skipping

Hey All, I just bought my RX-8. LOVE IT! But my CD player skips all the time. I was going to get it checked out, but after I read on here I guess I will have to deal with it. Anyway, just to let you know the CD Players must suck in the 8's. Boy O-DO I LOVE THE CAR!!!

yiksing 09-17-2006 02:47 AM

Maybe there's a loose spring inside the player, the one that absorbs the shocks

lure3o1 09-18-2006 11:04 PM

Mine only seems to skip when i hit a bump. Mazda didn't put no anti skip on the stock one without mp3 or 6-disc. Kinda sucks I think.

CD Player Skipping

Yo:

The CD player on the rx-8 is terrible. I am actually now taking action with the OHIO better business bureau.

They say it's made to spec. That is crap.

99% of all CD players made in the last 10 years will read through those scratches.

How do you make an immaculate car with a terrible Cd Player. I owned one before and had to get rid of it b/c some schmo messed up my dash and electronics. Mazda wanted to charge me $5,000 to fix. I said screw you I love the car, traded in for a new one, lost some cash in the process, but they put a 6 aftermarket in the back.

It has been broke for a month and a half and have had to resort to the Factory.
The factory Cd is garbage, straight garbage at reading scrathes.

I want Mazda's ass on this:

JOey

You could always replace it one of the 6 disc changers on eBay or find a 6 disc on here that nobody wants or a single disc that someone replaced. I'm sure you could get a used single cheap.

Mine does the same thing piece of shit! :Kill2:
