cd eating cd player

yeah so on my way home and i realize my radio is off completely and the last thing i was listening to was my cd player so i push the power button to turn the radio on then the eject button to change cd's and only half of the cd is ejected i have no idea where the other half of my cd is but ive put in other cd's since then and they play fine so has this happened to any one else or does any body have any ideas to what happened?

WTF??

The CD broke? I've never heard of this. Ever. I even watched Mythbusters where they tried to make CDs disentegrate and it was extremely difficult at best. Was the CD damaged before hand or something?

Weird.

how cool. HAHA sorry about your CD though. Hopefully it wasnt that great of a CD and a burned copy?

lol - your cd player must have been hungry...in all seriousness, there has to be an empirical explanation for the missing half....nah, I like the hungry 8 theory better.

My understanding is that for a single cd-loading player, it would be impossible for the system to play other cd's with half a cd stuck inside. Do you happen to have the 6cd changer option installed?

hah!!! the hungery rx-8 grrrrr !!!! unfortunately it was the gf's cd so of course it was my fault
