CD Changer Frozen

Alright so i'm a little disappointed that one of my first posts is asking for some help with my new RX-8. I was loading CDs into the CD changer...when I decided that I wanted to them in a different order and took one back right after I had started to insert it. So then the output screen got stuck staying "CD in" and won't go away. There are only 3 CDs in there...it wont accept anymore CDs and it won't play the CDs that are in there already.

SO I looked through the owners manual and did a search on the forums but didn't find anything that addressed this issue. I tried disconnecting the battery to reset it...but it still wouldn't work when I brought it back online. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Will it spit out the three CDs that are in there? Have you tried ejecting them when the car is off?

The changers seem to be pretty touchy... I got my car in February, and the first changer skipped all the time. This new one is alright, but sometimes, it acts like it doesn't want to play a CD once I load it. To get around that, I'll advance the track to #2, then go back to #1 to get it to go. Weird, but it seems to work...

Hope yours comes back to life soon...

Man that stinks, had the exact same thing happened to me it did unfreeze after a few restarts but eventually locked right up again.

Had Cd changer replaced under warranty about 1 week latter Mazda the mailed the CD's I couldn’t get out to the dealer ship :) (dealer told me this happens to a lot of RX8's)

Funny thing I have a CarPC now and don't use the CD changer any more :yelrotflm

Try disconnecting the power cable off the battery. I noticed even with the car off when you re-hook up the power the CD changer makes a bunch of noise as if resetting or re-checking the cd's in the unit.
