Can I Upgrade Leased Car Audio???

Hey Guys,
I've got a 2005 on a 5 year lease, with non-bose audio and wondered whether, during installation of, say the Infinity Kappa 693.5i in rear and 60.5CS in front (are these typical size? i've just read them thrown around on the site), and an amp (what do you guys recommend? infinity 7520A?) permanent modifications would be done to the current speaker mounts or audio hook ups such that after 5 years when I return the car and reinstall the current speakers, I'd have problems or be charged? I really want to upgrade the sound, but don't want to be charged $$$$ when I return the car when some a-hole says "sir, it looks like you've accomplished $2000 in internal damage to your vehicle"...any suggestions??????

You have two options.. leave the new speakers in, the dealership will give you $0 for them... or you can have them removed later on, pay more money to retrofit the old ones back, etc etc costing you more money. One of the drawbacks for leasing.

but you're saying the old ones can be refitted successfully? i'll pay the money, i just need some decent sound

oulaws i was also wondering: 1. what amp and woofer would you recommend with the kappa speakers? , 2. how can i find someone in Orlando, FL where I live who wont' f*&^ up the installation?

For starter, you can get PAS magazine at the newstands.. they always have some info of the latest amps/speakers etc... then another way is research on the forums. Not sure what your budget is like, but a decent amp shouldn't cost you more than 300-400 dollars.

a 5 year lease???? never heard of such a thing. at that point you might as well have financed it, and then you could have done whatever you wanted to the audio.

a bit of a long time for a lease but i have heard of it
but it was a girl :)
but anyways yeah upgrade the hell out of it for those 5 yrs its your car.
if u decide to return it go back to stock or by then your components will probably not even be worth taking out.

Since you live in Florida, go & support you local JL dealer. They will have what you want & what you need. Most shops who carry JL will have at least decent installers.
