Campacitor and a second amp install not going so good!

OK so I got everything installed and hooked up that I was told I would need, in my pre-thread :)

What I'm trying to install; 4-3-2 channel kenwood amp on the left and a second (800w) amp on the right for my kenwood (4om) 12"

Pic one;
From battery; 4g ground from battery to engine strut bar, 4g 100w fuse to capacitor with charge card, 4g capacitor ground to trunk of car, 4g from capacitor to dis-block and to 4 channel amp, 12w or v blue wire also runs to second amp

12 w or v blue wire from first amp to second amp, 4g from dis-block, 4g ground to trunk of car, + red wire from sub to box mount now black wire to left side of amp and - white wire to right side of amp connection

In this pic the two amps are connected like this; line out from the amp on the left to line in to the amp on the right, black to with on top and gray to red on the bottom. Did I got that right?

So my prob is my capacitior will not charge and my second amp on the right will not turn on=no sup?
The instructions that came with my capacitor say; I need to connect the charge card to the capacitor or connect the blue wire to + and the yellow wire to -
Then connect the red wire to + and the black wire to - to a 12 volt DC power source. When the green led light goes out, the capacitor is charged.
I dont know what to do next?

Guys please let me know if everything is hooked up right :(

Thanks a million!
-Gil

Hell I never used one before. I'm going to charge it right now to my battery and then hook it back up. BRB...

The cap is charged by now.. I personally think the charge card isn't necessary anyways.. so just remove the card and let us know how it's goes :)

WikkedOne 02-11-2008 04:06 AM

oh yeah - switch the little switch on your amp from "stereo" to mono and make sure the sub is hooked to the left channel

DOMINION 02-11-2008 04:26 AM

I just tryed what the link I posted states you should do and still nothing :(
Man its cold out side.

The 12" is in the left channel. Its kinda hard to see in the pic. I just move the switch to mono.
Still no sound from the 12" and no lights are light on the second amp to the right :(

My Dis-Cap has one in from the cap and three out, Should I try to connect the second amp to the one in the middle? Right now its connected on the far right hole.

WikkedOne 02-11-2008 04:44 AM

have you completly removed the charge card? if you haven't thats your problem.. as for the dis cap - unless there is fuses inside there i cannot see it shouldn't be causing any problems..

DOMINION 02-11-2008 04:45 AM

I took off the charge card and there is no fuse inside the dis-cap, but still nothing :(

WikkedOne 02-11-2008 05:12 AM

Check your fuses and test your ground on your 800W amp and let us know the the results.

You where right, the ground for the amp on the right was for shit :banghead: :dunce:
So I did what you said. I ran a speaker wire from my cap to the ground on the second amp and bingo! we now have bass! :jump:

Thank you sir! you are the man! :worship:

DOMINION 02-11-2008 05:18 AM

I ran the 4g ground from the cap to the top of my trunk to a bolt. :scratchhe So I had just enough 4g ground wire to run the second amp to the same bolt.
Boom baboom baboom boom! lol I love it :smoker:
Now I just need to have my box cut, bolt the amps down and mount the 12" :)

saweet! Glad I could help man - just call again if you need some more help - oh yeah while your waiting for your box, find a way to hide all of your wires.

A good tip is to cut a piece of 1/2 inch plywood the exact size of your amp and put it under the amp under the carpet, then screw your amps down through the carpet into the wood - then cut little slits to run the wires into the carpet and next to the wood.. Its quick, easy, and clean. it also holds your amps in place! Happy bumps bro.

You might have better luck hooking the cap up to th battery directly, it should only take 1-2 minutes to fully charge it, and where do you have the ground at ?

^Thanks but I'm now :)

I installed my second 12" and it sounds real sweeeet!
