gpslodge.com, which is anal in their coverage—and reviews—of GPS units, says the Garmin Nuvi 660 is the best GPS system they've ever tested. A bit expensive, but it comes with the FM-based traffic feature, which supposedly is great. (Expensive, but still WAY LESS than the $2K for the 2003 technology OEM unit.)

We also have a Mio 168 ( i think that's what it is) which is a palm pilot with built in gps, it works flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mio's products at all, it's a few years old but it is awesome.

what an irony....my repaired Nuvi just came in the mail today as well! Aside from the wider screen, FM transmitter and bluetooth, 350 is all the 660 is...with the same general software. To me, those options aren't worth the $250-300 hike.

You're going to LOVE that little thing!

WORD TO THE WISE...don't hardwire it to your car...car feed 12V, it only takes 5V. I learned...the hard way.
