AV Electronics A/V Switch

4 Attachment(s)
I recently Purchased The Av Electronics A/V Switch from a member on this forum... I am currently installing Said Switch... I Have successfully installed the Video wire and the Ground.. Here comes the Issue.. The Switch Came with an 8 pin power connection with Yellow, Black, and Yellow/Black Wires. I have contacted the Company and they could not tell me what wire go where.... I am wondering if anyone has experience in installing said Switch and would happen to know What to do with the power cable..

I'll look at mine tonight.

hey i got the pin out

Here is the pin out looking from wire side locking on top:

1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8

Pin 2 = Ground
Pin 4 = Acc +12 v
Pin 5 = Safety Ground signal
Pin 6 = Reverse light signal +12v

That should be good

I also made a thread, i'll close that one

Ok so I have the power hooked up and, I assumed I had the Video wires Properly spliced.. Guess I was wrong... I am getting a clear picture on my secondary monitor but, the NAV screen is getting a white scrolling bar and is not fully switching between the NAV and the AV Switch input. If I disconnect the Spliced video wires from the NAV drive and there is only video from the AV switch the video is clear... When the NAV drive and the AV switch are ON at the same time I dont Have a Clear Picture on my NAV Screen... I thought it might have been a Ground Wire Issue, and attempted to remedy it with no success..

How I have the Wires:

Green and Pastel Green / Green
Red and Pastel Red / Red
Blue and Pastel Blue / Blue
White and white / White

Negative = Ground

Would anyone happen to have the "Pin Out" of the video connector of the AV Switch?
(The Wires that go TO the AV Switch pin)

Do you have the factory-supplied instructions?

I'm not clear what you're saying. The A/V unit is an interceptor. If the unit is on, no signal from the DVD ROM makes it to the NAV screen, only signals originating from the inputs to the A/V box. If the A/V box power is off, then only signals from the DVD ROM make it to the NAV screen.

I understand that the switch is an interceptor, thats why I am not sure what is going on... I have the few pages of directions that people have posted on here... But, I got the Switch from someone on the forum, they have helped a great deal with the power wire ...
Basically The NAV Screen is SHowing Both the AV input and the NAV rom input when I turn on the Switch... Im just not sure why its not fully switching to the AV input.

Would anyone have the "pin out" of the video wire... i.e. what pin on the av switch does what ... I would like to try and do this from scratch ...

Or if I could het the proper "PIN OUT" Of the video and power wires.... If I cant get it to properly work then it will be for sale... I hope someone will be able to Help...

I believe I know where I messed up @ .... It says in the instructions that I need to connect wires "to the navigation screen" where are these wires located?

I'm referring to the wires that go to the screen not the av switch wires that need to be connected

they come out of the back of the nav DVD ROM "player".

Thank you hiflight999 I figured out exactly what was wrong :)... It took this long but I'm glad I got it resolved ... The issue that i was having was that I did not completely cut the DVD NAV wires from the screen. What I initially did was connect both sets of wire (from the av switch) to the r/g/b and sync on the NAV drive... To remedy this I completely cut the r/g/b and sync wires ... I connected the r/g/b and sync to the wires going to the screen first and all the pastel wires to the NAV harness ... This was incorrect ... The pastel wires needed to be connected to the wires going to screen, and the r/g/b wires needed to be attached to the wires coming from the NAV drive .. Thanks to those that helped me..

Glad it's resolved. +1
