Auxmod Installed

FINALLY got around to installing my Auxmod with a few hours free time and some nice weather to do the job in. I have a Samsung Helix for XM Radio on the end of the mini plug. I decided to simply route the wire into the glove compartment (used a six foot long cable) so I can stick it in the ashtray or leave it on my lap and use it like a remote control, and stow it when parked. The cupholders are just too far back to make it practical to keep it there.

Using an awl or an eyeglass screwdriver helps get the snap connectors out by pressing on the lock tabs with one. Took a tad over 90 minutes, taking my time and coming back into the house to review comments here on the forum.

It also definitely helps to remove the metal plate (4 screws, and less than a minute) to locate and better access the infamous "hidden bolt." Why make the job harder?

Putting it all back together was a snap, and now I have additional functionality for my satellite radio dollar.

Awesome! I'm glad the install went well for you.. i had a bad ground loop problem with my sirius.. (sounded like horrible engine whine) I had to go to radioshack and get a ground loop isolator to fix it.

I'm telling you this in case you didn't know and get some engine noise you just need a ground loop isolator to fix it.
