Autodim mirror sensitivity

I was just wondering if there was any way to adjust the sensitivity of the autodimming feature. I've been noticing it more lately, but my mirror hardly ever dims to my comfort level. I hardly use that rearview mirror because my last car had a blacked out rear window, but it would be nice to look at it and not get blinded when I do try to use it. If there is an easy way to make it get dimmer faster let me know. Thanks.

That has been a complaint and we haven't found a way to speed it up or dim it darker. :dunno:

If it is just a photodiode sesnor in the front part like it looks, there should be a resistor somewhere that is turning the current being generated into a voltage. I guess I will just have to pop mine open and see if I can find it. I hate doing that though because I am good at taking things apart and bad at putting them back together...

I just put my finger over the photo sensor if it doesn't dim when I want it to.

If you want it to dim consistently faster, take a Sharpie and lightly color a small piece of packing tape and then place it over the diode (its on the front lower edge of the rear view mirror).
It may take a few tries to get a piece that isn't too dark.
