AudioLink iPod adapter issues.

So.. I been having a audiolink ipod adapter in my car for about a year now, it stays connected to my old ipod classic. For the last year it has worked perfectly. Recently, It has been loosing sound and I am having trouble figuring out what is giving me the issue. Randomly when I start the car I get no sound, but everything seems to be working correctly minus the sound. I can still change songs or playlist from the radio and watch the ipod do the same just no music, even when I try using the little headphone jack I get nothing.

Now the kicker.. Plug headphones into the ipod and you get sound, plug my iphone4 into the audio link (either way) and I get sound + controls.. What's going on? Rx-8 no like ipod classic all of a sudden? I also rebooted the ipod a few times with no results. Music returns on it's own eventually (when the car is restarted).

Any ideas?

Next time you have the problem, try unplugging and plugging back in the iPod. The interface may just be getting screwed up from the pause/unpause when the car is started.

I think it's the ipod crapping out. It worked yesterday morning but had "scratch noises" while playing. Plugged in my iPhone and it sounds perfect. The iPod is very old and beat up so I guess it was just it's time.

Thanks for the reply, the play/pause sync caught me a few times in the past.

I never experienced any scratchy noises with my Audiolink. Strange. But unplugging/plugging fixes most all iPod problems with any headunit. My old Pioneer D3 had the same problems and my new Pioneer single din has done it once or twice too. Though my iPod is old, I've babied that thing. So I doubt it's a mechanical failure of any kind. Sometimes they just don't sync/communicate well and you have to unplug/replug to start over and get them talking again.

Well, I replaced the iPod with another used iPod, been trouble free for about a week now. The old iPod still works, but only with headphones now.
