Audio woes!!!

Ok so I had Circuit City install 6810cs infinity's in the front, kept stock speakers in the back, and basslink in the trunk. I also had CIrcuit City put in Sirius Sportster, but a wireless connection (they claim they couldn't pull out the Head unit for the wired connection).
The big problem is: the sub gives very little kick (even with gain all way up) most of the time, but does give good kick for some CD songs. The Circuit city guy said the reason I can't get good kick more often is there are metal plates behind the rear seats deflecting the bass??? anyone know what he's talking about????
But since I get good kick for some CD songs, is it the crappy satellite radio connection or the sub? Can I do anything to get better bass? All you guys raving about the basslink, am I missing something???

Depends on what you are wanting. The basslink is not going to boom 2 Live Crew, but should fill in the gaps on the factory system quite nicely. For starters, it sounds like the Circuit City guy needs a new job. How would "metal plates" deflect bass sometimes, but not others? It is probably an installation error. Most companies, especially Circuit City, have not done installs on the 8 yet. Remember that the gain will not make the amp put out more power, it is just used to match the level of the inputs. Do you have the Bose or Non Bose system. Your FM Modulator is definitely not helping matters. Do a few searches on PIE, AuxMod, Icelink, Audiolink, etc. and you will see everyones opinions on all of them.

I am not 100% positive but with a wireless signal you will most likely always lose bit-rate. Clarity is very important for low freq sound especially that coming from your sub woofer. Try listening to a CD and then the FM radio and see the difference in bass.

Also, does the wireless XM setup send stereo or mono signal ?
