Advanced Keys brand Keyless Entry

I saw this item talked about here before but a search reveals a ton of threads but nothing on this particular aftermarket setup. I have an 04' with only one key left and my last remote crapped out. I hate having a key and a remote on my keychain and I drive another Mazda all the time with the switchblade remote and I don't like that either due to the size so I am thinking of going this route and using the knob and key card.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Thoughts? Thanks.

i would talk to that guy that made the keypad starter for his 8. I honestly forget his user name but it seems like he might know a thing or two about the system.

No experience with it. Looks nice though. Keyfob is a little thick to fit in my wallet. 6mm is ~1/4". My entire wallet with all my credit cards, several IDs, cash, etc is only 15mm (just measured it lol). And if you're not going to carry it in your wallet, how it this any different than a switchblade key? Still pretty damn large. And you still have other keys to carry, correct?

Looks like a sweet setup. Just saying if you're buying it simply for the key design, there's some things to think about.

Yeah that is thick and I do have other keys. I just can't do anything with a factory setup since I only have one key so to program new ones I would have to go to the dealer which would end up being more than this so I am thinking this would be the best bet.

Pretty cool. I could go with the push button option as well but I don't know, this one seems cleaner. I have enough buttons in my car

yea i hear ya, i just mean if you needed opinions about installation and such.

So you plan on doing the key cap/knob? I don't see why that can't be done without the remote start/keyless system. You just hack up your key and glue it in there. Then clutch pedal, push knob in and turn on the ignition. Either way, same amount of security really. It's essentially leaving your keys in the car, but locking to doors. The knob just keeps the reminder chime from sounding and allows you to lock your doors. You want cheap.... it's 35 bucks.

What and then just use the factory remote?

yep.
